Early news leaks indicated that the Green Lantern movie would be released on home video at the end of October, however Warner Brothers officially announced today that the film would be released in several formats on October 14th and confirmed that only the 2D Blu-ray release will contain an extended version of the film that will run an additional nine minutes long.

On October 14th, the Green Lantern extended cut will be available for purchase for permanent download and the theatrical film can be rented on iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, and Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game consoles. It will also be available to rent via kiosks and subscription on November 8th.

It looks to me like both the 3D combo pack and the 2D combo pack will contain the extended cut, but in the 3D pack you can only view the extended cut in 2D.
The extended cut is only available in 2d. The regular blu-ray edition contains the theatrical and extended cuts, but the 3d version includes the theatrical version in 3d as well.
Very excited! I hope the extended cut is more than an additional 5 minutes though....

ngl, I'm kinda miffed that the Blu-Ray version only has the extended cut. I can't afford to get a Blu-Ray player (or a Playstation 3) at the moment, so nnnnngh.
On the bright side, at least iTunes will have it for download-purchase. Yay!
Lame. Special features suck. And the Arkham city code being only on PS3 is stupid.
Well the code is only with the blu-ray copies and PS3 can play blu-ray so it kinda makes sense. They wouldnt include a code for a system that cant even play blu-ray.
