September 2012 Green Lantern Solicitations

The September 2012 solictations from DC Comics for the Green Lantern family of books has been released for the one year anniversary of the relaunch of the DC Universe.  All the issues for this month are “zero issues” focusing in many of the books on what changes were made to the origins and backgrounds of DC characters before returning to the regular numbers next month.
Among the more intriguing plotlines for “zero month” is the rest of the origin of Pandora in Justice League and what information about the upcoming Trinity War, plus the debut of the mysterious new Green Lantern from the Free Comic Book Day issue.  The publication schedule has also been changed for the Green Lantern titles, with Red Lanterns moving to the end of the month and the rest of the book moving forward a week to fill in the gap.  Whether this is a permanent change or something unique to “zero month” in unknown, but the description for Red Lanterns hints that the prophecy revealed in that issue might be kick off to the Third Army arc and might explain the schedule change.

Also of great interest is the lineup change over in Green Lantern: New Guardians and the absence of a representation from the Indigo Tribe.  Tyler Kirkham is also absent from the credits for the book and he confirmed that he will be moving on to do the artwork on Teen Titans.  John Stewart’s name is also missing from the descriptions, however that is more than likely due to DC not wanting to ruin any dramatic tension from the conclusion of John’s trial and the fact that the Green Lantern Corps book is focusing on Guy this month.
