So sad. I really hope this show gets to continue some how! urg.
What do you mean Aya's secret origin???? Wha....No I can't believe this!!! The Science Director is alive???? Impossible!
By "her destruction," do they mean Aya's destroying the universe, Aya's being destroyed, or Scar herself destroying the universe? ;)
Where are the latest reviews for the Lantern books? D:
This shows effects are awesome... so wonderfully realistic... and the stories full of unpredictable twists and turns. WISH I could watch it weekly forever. Hate CN..
NEVER watch them again after its cancellation.
Please, please, please save Aya...!!! Please do not destroy her..
maybe they find a way to reverse the anti matter effect restoring everything the anti monitor and antiaya have destroyed.
This raises more questions than answers...first off, how did the Science Director survive such a strong anti-matter blast from the Anti-Monitor? By Aya's origin, does that mean she must have been an experiment to rival both the Green Lanterns and the Manhunters? Was she a prototype? Or was she even a real sentient life form masquerading as an AI? And what do you mean clues..?? This.is.killing.me. Arrrghhh...Can't wait to watch the episode!!!
Well as Lemony Snicket's might quote..."A Series of Unfortunate Events ..." would certainly describe this, another tragic chapter in Aya's evolution. Initially meant to be so much more, it seems even from the beginning her will sought freedom from control and manipulation.
Having slipped from progression to emotively primitive digression shows flaws in her intellectual logic...due in part from her lack of comprehensive experience.
Still haunting is her declaration to the Manhunter in Blue Hope...how she was nothing like them and yet here she assaults with little redemptive recollection of her crew mates and all their shared struggles.
The story and the writer's, cast and production hurl us forward into so many unique dimensions as they have time to impart and with the unfortunate intrusion of commercials that reduces quality time even further.
I found it interesting that Aya permitted Razer conversation and instead of destroying him batted him away... something relevant. To proclaim Aya's Razer's true love has yet to be determined, as he's still feeling for Ilana. He'd have to admit she's distinctive in his heart and apart from his other associated feelings. However, with so few episodes I'm intrigued how this will end.
Deeply saddened that such excellent entertainment's been canceled... I take solace that it's grown a respectful fanbase, climbs in ratings and has provided such great pleasure. Although I hope it returns someday with all the same talents... I take pleasure in the belief CN's execs will regret their decision.
I look forward to the DVD's release. Another excellent episode.
The series should have had an hour instead of 30 minutes because it forces much to be compromised. I feel Razer's little influence to help Aya with no other choice except her destruction.
Gonna miss this weekend escape. Sigh!
****spoilers alert****
I sincerely believe that Razer has loved Aya even way before he knew that Aya took the form of his deceased love Ilana. He has already fallen deeply in love with her during the "Flight Club" episode (notice his protectiveness with her and his jealousy when Aya got proposed to by Blyth Rok) and this was before Queen Agapo pointed it out to him that Aya took Ilana's form in the episode "In Love and War." In all the series leading up to "Loss" and "Cold Fury," both Razer and Aya have developed real deep feelings for each other evidenced by either one always looking out for the other whenever they were together.
And the whole point of developing these two characters this way is that in the end, it becomes an even bigger tear-jerker than when Aya "died" in "Loss."
This episode confirms once and for all that Aya is, has been, and always will be "more than a machine," that Razer has indeed fallen in love with a sentient life form, one created from Ion, the living being residing in the Green Lantern Central Battery Core of Oa. And yet it has been obvious from the start that she has shown sentience - she disobeys orders, she stands her ground, she argues back and she makes up her own mind and decisions.
It is a pity that she has been under-estimated and unappreciated for all the efforts she has done during series 1 when she was part of the crew.
In "Blue Hope", she used the word: CHOICE. That she chooses to go beyond her programming and evolve. She has grown to become her own being in her own right.
But to see her fall from grace, to see her become what she said she would never be meant that she has signed her own death sentence.
Our heroes own strategies are wearing thin - first they failed to acquire the orange battery, now they realize that the aurem crystals are no better, they are running out of time and ideas to stop her. The only thing that is left now is for Razer to try, try and try again to reason with her.
Aya has not, and could not destroy Razer - how she even allowed him to have a conversation with her even if she gave him that powerful backhand in the end meant that her feelings for the man is still there. She could have vaporized him easily but she didn't. If only Razer could just kiss her...
Just 2 more episodes to go and my heart is already breaking over these two...
And Lanos??? I could not believe that this particular AI sacrifice himself - that was completely unexpected! I enjoyed the "hostiles," especially the one who hang on the interceptor's tail and Lanos saying it was against normal procedures. I laughed when Kilowog told him to "shut up" and he took it literally.
Great comments from intuitive fans. Many are right there's something still there. I also agree that it'll be difficult to end this without one or both of their deaths.
Can't wait till next Saturday.
Razer's BIG mistake was to say he didn't love Aya at all. It's true they've developed a bond of affection. When she asked what kind of love did he have it would have been better to say he cared then say he did not because she was a machine.
I agree - there are better ways to gently break a woman's heart, especially one who is totally and completely in love with him. He could have worded it better. He obviously cared, but he didn't have to lie either. Now either he or his Aya have to pay the ultimate price in the end....
Sob****
I don't want to see Aya die! Or Razer for that matter. They both have been through so much it's so unfair to kill either one or both off!! I really wish Aya can be turned to good again, that she has this miraculous transformation - she becomes the living form she was meant to be and Razer gets to kiss her this time!! I seem to be the only one fan who wants a happy ending for these two...
