The rumors have been swirling around for some time but today DC Comics made it official with the announcement that the ongoing Larfleeze comic series has been canceled effective with issue twelve which is scheduled to be released in June of 2014.  While I’m a big fan of the character I found the title lacking in its approach, leaning away from the wonderfully tragic character than fans loved in favor of pushing for nonstop questionable humor.  I stopped reading the series with the second issue and according to the sales numbers fans have dropped the series in great numbers with the series garnering less than half of those who tuned in to the first issue.

The sales numbers below encompass the first six issues and current sales figures indicate that the title has continued its downward trend and is currently averaging in the 12,000 – 13,000 reader level.  The series was likely allowed to continue to be published so that it could reach enough issues for a second collection and wrap up any storylines that Keith Giffen had going.
