Cryptozoic Entertainment is expanding their ever-increasing number of DC Comics licensed products with a line of Mighty Meeples which they unveiled at the New York Toy Fair this weekend. For those who don’t know what meeples are, they are wooden tokens traditionally used in board games to represent anything from a player’s character to resources used in the game. Meeples have become somewhat of a staple for gamers and meeple themed merchandise has become increasingly popular with the modern board game hobby boom.
Mighty Meeples based on thirty different DC characters will be available in the third quarter of 2016 and available as blind packaged characters and in sets. The lineup of characters includes Green Lantern and Sinestro, however it’s unknown at this time whether they will appear in any of the sets or will be the subject of getting lucky with the blind packaging. But hey, Cryptozoic, if you’re reading this and want to send me some of the Hal and Sinestro meeples to give away I’d be happy to put together a giveaway to promote their launch and make some fans happy!
To celebrate the upcoming release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice there were exclusive version of the two iconic characters at the Toy Fair. You can see the entire lineup below. By the way, if you haven’t tried Cryptozoic’s DC Deck Building Game you should give it a try – especially with the Crisis Expansion 2 which brings a cooperative version of Blackest Night to the table!
