DC’s animated film series is going back to the well to revisit the death of Superman with another animated film. The original Superman: Doomsday feature was the first in DC’s direct to video original animated films but suffered from trying to squeeze the story into the amount of time afforded an animated film. This time around the effort is expanding the cast as well as the story. Returning to voice Hal Jordan is Nathan Fillion (Castle, Firefly) in the first of a two-part series. The Death of Superman will release later this summer followed by the second part of the two-part story, Reign of the Supermen, in 2019.
Also joining the cast are:
Jerry O’Connell (Billions) – Superman
Rebecca Romijn (The Librarians, X-Men) – Lois Lane
Rainn Wilson (The Office, Star Trek: Discovery) – Lex Luthor
Rosario Dawson (Jane the Virgin) – Wonder Woman
Christopher Gorham (Covert Affairs) – The Flash
Matt Lanter (Timeless) – Aquaman
Shemar Moore (SWAT) – Cyborg
Jason O’Mara (Agents of SHIELD) – Batman
Rocky Carroll (NCIS) – Silas Stone
Patrick Fabian (Better Call Saul) – Hank Henshaw
