We first heard about the DC Comics themed version of Cryptozoic Entertainment’s Spyfall board game back in April.  With this week being Gen-Con, the gaming world’s version of the San Diego Comic-Con, Cryptozoic is using all the attention at this year’s show to be the springboard for DC Spyfall‘s release.  The game will see a limited release at Gen-Con from August 2-5 before finding its way to game stores on August 8th with an MSRP of $25.  It is currently available for pre-order on Amazon for those who don’t have a friendly local game store.

Spyfall is a social deduction game for three to eight players in which one player secretly plays the role of a spy trying to determine the location of the other players, all of whom are trying to determine which one of them is the spy.  Players ask each other questions about their location in an attempt to determine which side each other player is on without being too obvious and tipping the hand in the spy’s favor.  The DC Comics variation adds some new spins to the game’s standard formula.  Green Lantern lore ties into the game with two of DC Spyfall’s locations being Ferris Aircraft and Mogo.
