Cryptozoic Making Green Lantern Rivals Game

Cryptozoic Entertainment has announced their next release in the DC Deck Building Game “Rivals” lineup which features Green Lantern versus Sinestro.  Two players take on the roles of Hal Jordan and Sinestro in a player versus player battle which plays off of the hugely successful Sinestro Corps Wars storyline.  The game includes more than 95 cards depicting the characters and abilities that each player will use to outwit their opponent.  The game will carry an MSRP of $20 and is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of this year with one person from Cryptozoic Entertainment saying it will be “Octoberish”.  The game takes about 30-45 minutes to play and can be combined with the Batman vs. Jokers Rivals game or the Confrontations game to expand to a four player tag-team experience.

For those who are unfamiliar with what a deck building game is, players start the game on an even playing field each with identical decks of cards.  Each turn players uses the cards in their hands and special abilities to buy better cards that increase their power or give them new abilities.  As rounds progress each player’s deck becomes unique based on the decisions they make to build their deck until one player is able to defeat the other.  The Green Lantern Rivals game includes many characters, locations and abilities that fans will find very familiar as Cryptozoic has a history to doing a wonderful job mining comic book lore and great artwork to bring the DC Universe to life.

You can find the full game instructions and more information on Cryptozoic’s website.
