It’s carnival season in New Orleans and Green Lantern will be a part of this year’s Bacchus parade as a part of the festivities.  The March 3rd parade’s theme is “Starring Louisiana” which honors the state’s role in television and movie production.  The 2011 Green Lantern film was filmed in New Orleans when New Zealand was eliminated as an option due to a change in the tax incentives for motion picture production.  The 51st Bacchus parade will have Supernatural actor Jensen Ackles as it’s king, someone who ironically is often fancast as Hal Jordan.  The float is one of many in Sunday’s parade highlighting movies and tv shows including A Streetcar Named Desire, Live and Let Die, NCIS: New Orleans and Easy Rider. The parade will be streamed on March 3 at 10 p.m. on WWLTV.com, WWL-TV’s mobile app and Facebook page.
