  1. Wow I didn’t even realize that there was a solo series depicting Hal’s time as the Specter and that Morrison tied it in here. Thanks for pointing it out Myron! I might have to check it out. It’s crazy the amount of general DC knowledge that Morrison has, and it is amazing how he can effortlessly tie it all together to make everything cannon as if it was truly one continuous story. It does make one do their homework though. I am on the fence about the annual though. I went through it pretty fast and didn’t find it too memorable. It also seemed a little preachy about our obsession with technology and our disregard with how we get it. But then it seemed to disregard it just as quickly for a joke. I will be interested to see if Morrison ties it in to a future storyline. It was nice to see the Jordan family and his cousin Hal Jr. back in action. I enjoyed him in the Green Lantern/Green Arrow run. Thanks again for creating this site and podcast for us fans! It is always a fun part of the day to check in on the Blog of Oa.

    1. Thanks for the kind words, Daniel! Sadly the Spectre run with Hal hasn’t been collected making it something readers will need to hunt down in single issue format. It was a unique take on the character as Hal tried to turn the Spectre into the spirit of redemption. In the end it didn’t really work as well as DC thought and with GL’s sales not doing so well the road was paved for Hal’s return to the land of the living.
