Green Lantern: Earth One Volume Two, the follow-up to last year’s Eisner Award nominated first volume, is set for a June 9, 2020 release date and The Blog of Oa has a sneak peak of some of the artwork for the sequel. In this 21st Century reimagining of the Green Lantern mythos, the creative team of Corinna Bechko and Gabriel Hardman are not only continuing the adventures of their version of Hal Jordan, but this time we’re getting their take on John Stewart as well. Here’s the solicitation information as well as a look at five pages of the new hardcover graphic novel.
Hal Jordan and John Stewart must team up to save the last Green Lantern Guardian from an evil force!
Manhunters, alien races, rings of power–it’s a lot for the people of Earth to absorb. Especially when an interplanetary incident forces their protector, Hal Jordan, to leave on a rescue mission that results in the discovery that there’s a new player in the galaxy: Yellow Lanterns!
While they seem a benign force for peace, Jordan can’t get comfortable with how much power they wield, or their bizarre, lockstep behavior. When fellow Earthling John Stewart ends up with a yellow ring, he and Hal must work together to confront the being who destroyed the original Green Lantern Corps–the last surviving Guardian.
Corinna Bechko and Gabriel Hardman feature two of the most famous DC characters, Hal Jordan and John Stewart, like you’ve never seen them before!
Green Lantern: Earth One Volume Two is available for pre-order on Amazon.
I have just purchased the first hardcover not long ago. I remember hearing about this some time ago on a podcast, not sure which one and sounded interesting. Since I have read the first one I am looking forward to the second hardcover when it comes out.
