Over the course of the past seven years, Warner Brothers Animation has forged its own DC Animated Movie Universe which began with the release of 2013’s Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox. If Comicbook.com is correct, that could all come to an end in May with the release of Justice League Dark: Apokolips War which will feature dozens of characters from the DC Universe. That includes Nathan Fillion is returning to the role of Hal Jordan and Roger Cross as John Stewart. Fans who’ve watched the trailer may have noticed that Oa makes at least a brief appearance – at least long enough for us to see the explosion of the Central Power Battery.
The potential end of the DC Animated Movie Universe doesn’t mean that Warner Brothers Animation is stepping away from making animated films based on DC’s library of characters, they may just be ending the current continuity. There has been no announcement about whether future plans include a new interconnected universe or not. Hopefully future plans include adaptations of Sinestro Corps War and Blackest Night.
