Few comic book creators have had the reach of legendary writer and artist Keith Giffen, who passed away at the age of 70 as a result of a stroke. His name is literally spread across the entire comics multiverse, with his name listed in the credits of well over 1500 comics which he served as writer or illustrator. He created a number of fan favorite characters over the years, including Green Lantern G’Nort, Lobo, Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes), Rocket Raccoon and a host of others.

For the Green Lantern corner of the DCU, besides creating G’Nort Mr. Giffen worked on a number of characters, most notably Guy Gardner during the Justice League International era. He also wrote the short lived Larfleeze series and worked on books including Green Lantern Corps Quarterly, Green Lantern Emerald Dawn, and Green Lantern: New Guardians.
