While DC Comics July solicitations haven’t been officially released, they have been leaked early by Bleeding Cool, and they confirm that Green Lantern: War Journal will be concluding with issue twelve in September. The eleventh issue is listed in DC Connect as being “11 of 12” and the solicitation information refers to it as the penultimate issue. When The Podcast of Oa interviewed writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson last May he indicated that his commitments wouldn’t allow for him to write the series for the long haul, he indicated that DC was interested in an ongoing series. Recent social media posts by Green Lantern writer Jeremy Adams indicated that he and Johnson were cooking up something Green Lantern related, but that could either be how the books intersect or perhaps there may be some plans for later in the year.
Also included in the July solicitations was the news that Sinister Sons would be wrapping up with its sixth issue. The series was announced prior to the news that writer Peter Tomasi would be shifting towards exclusivity with Ghost Machine, so its unclear if the series conclusion is tied to his departure or if it’s for other reasons. The final issue promises to reveal Korg’s true origins.
They released the new DC Connect on the DC Infinite app.
